Michael W. Brashears is Brethren Mutual's Chairman of the Board & Chief Executive Officer. Joining the Company in August 1978 as the assistant accountant, Mike was elected to Brethren's Board of Directors in 1990. In 1995, he was promoted to Brethren Mutual Executive Vice President. Mike was named CEO and Chairman of the Board in 1999.

Mike stresses the importance of communicating openly with the Company's customers and agents. Additionally, he believes the Company must continue to provide a high-level of customer service and maintain competitive products to meet the insurance needs of Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia residents.

Mike focuses on the challenge of preserving the Company's corporate personality while successfully competing in the 21st century.

Brethren Mutual's President/Chief Operations Officer is Charles H. Flickinger, CPA, PHR, CIC, CPCU, ARe, CLU, RHU, REBC.

Joining Brethren Mutual in April 1990 as the Business/Human Resources manager, Charles was promoted to the position of Brethren's Assistant to the President/Secretary in 1993. In 1995, he was elected as an official member of the Company's Board of Directors. Charles was named President in 1999.

Charles tracks the Company's conservative growth in new areas where it can be successful. Additionally, Charles stresses upon Brethren's commitment to the independent agency system. He believes in the Company reaping the benefits of new technology to improve and strengthen its operations.

John Snyder, Jr. CBCP, MCP, CNA, CEH, GSEC, CISSP, ISSMP serves as Brethren Mutual's Information Services Vice President.

Joining Brethren Mutual in 1982, John currently manages and supervises the three Information Services division areas of programming, technical support and operations. John focuses on planning and implementing cost effective solutions to accomplish technical goals for the Company. Additionally, he believes in providing a high level of technical support for Brethren employees and the agency force.

John believes that Information Services is one member of the Brethren team that works to maintain the company as a leader in the P&C industry for its excellence in customer service.

Tammy Aaron, CPA, CPP is Brethren Mutual's Vice President of Finance/Treasurer. She oversees the day-to-day activities within the billing, receivables, payables, payroll, financial and statistical areas. Additionally, she prepares quarterly and annual NAIC required statements and supplemental financial reports.

Joining Brethren Mutual in 1993, Tammy was promoted to Assistant Treasurer in April 1995 and Treasurer in April 1999. She was named Vice President of Finance in April 2002.

Tammy believes the Company's competitiveness has helped to maintain its financial stability. Her focus is to continually monitor the constant changing insurance and financial environments to be proactive in reaching Brethren's future goals.

Wanda Dorsey serves as Brethren Mutual's Personnel Director/Corporate Secretary.

Joining Brethren Mutual in 1990, Wanda is responsible for the administration of compliance in the employee benefits program. Additionally, she maintains the Company's internal policies and procedures to keep current with the constant changes in regulations within the industry.

Wanda focuses on keeping up-to-date with changes in the P&C industry to better serve Brethren Mutual employees and be more of an asset to the Company.

John D. Stoner, CPCU, CIC is Brethren Mutual's Vice President of Underwriting and Marketing.

Joining the Company in August 1972 as a desk underwriter, John was promoted to Underwriting Manager in 1978. In 1990, he was named Marketing/Communications Manager. Seven years later, John took on the position of the Company's Maryland Marketing Manager. In July 2006, he was promoted to his current position.

Overseeing Brethren Mutual's Underwriting, Marketing, and Rate and Product Departments, John focuses his efforts on automation, product enhancements and niche marketing to move the Company to the next level. He believes enhancements to personal and small commercial lines automation will allow Brethren Mutual to compete with larger carriers.
